What is BE-ODL?

Since 1999, the Belgian network for Open & Digital learning works hard for the implementation of e-learning in business life. BE-ODL has a strong believe in the future of e-learning and wishes to introduce this training method to a broad general public. Companies will find benefit in e-learning. This new training method lends support to the needs of a company by giving the employees the opportunity to constantly keep up to date their competence. Every company wants to innovate and introduce products and services more quickly. Hence, well trained personnel is an absolute necessity to prove successful.

A Belgian network

The Belgian Network for Open and Digital Learning is a non-profit making organization. It aims at establishing cooperation between statutory organizations and private companies with a view to a growing implementation of e-learning in training programmes for employees.
BE-ODL links organisations and companies with a rich experience and expertise with modern information- and communication technology. Five or six times a year, BE-ODL organises seminars at which practical cases are presented. Furthermore, several manuals were being written for ‘starters’ and other projects will be launched.

Modern times for learning

Flexibility and willingness for lifelong learning are requirements for the modern employee. E-learning has a wide range of advantages:
• learning is possible anytime
• learning is possible anywhere
• focus on current learning needs (just in time) • no waste of time on subjects (just enough)
• learner is at the centre point with all necessary support
• training is available 24hours/day, 7days/week
Unknown, unloved, so still, many barriers and misconceptions about e-learning will have to be cleared. BE-ODL helps companies with the introduction of e-learning.
On www.elearning4u.be you will find a complete manual to successfully tackle the first steps in this process. You can also find a free download version of our guide: ‘E-learning? Getting started?’
